The Carver 460 Voyager is one of the few vessels in its size class that delivers a true three-stateroom, two-head layout without reaching into the 50-foot category. At 46 feet 11 inches on the hull, it handles like a mid-40-foot boat while living like something considerably larger. Twin Volvo Penta TAMD75P-A diesel inboards with Volvo QL bow and stern thrusters make this a boat one couple can manage confidently, and with only 580 engine hours on the pair, the mechanical platform is well below average for a 2003 vessel.
Layout and Accommodations
The 460 Voyager carries three staterooms and two full heads. The forward V-berth is the master, with its own en-suite head featuring a granite countertop vanity and glass-enclosed shower. Two mid-ship staterooms — one to port, one to starboard — each have dedicated heads with matching granite finishes and glass shower enclosures. The main salon features a full leather L-shaped settee, a separate seating area with two club chairs, an entertainment center, and large windows with wood-blind privacy. Forward of the salon, the dining settee wraps around a pedestal table and is finished in cream leather with matching woodwork throughout. The galley is equipped with a Sharp microwave/convection oven, Princess triple-burner electric stovetop, and NovaKool refrigerator/freezer. A Malber 120VAC washer/dryer combo is installed below.
Power and Performance
Twin Volvo Penta TAMD75P-A inline 6-cylinder turbocharged diesels, each rated at 375 HP (750 HP total), deliver strong performance from a proven platform. The ZF280-1A gear units run a 2.227:1 ratio into twin bronze 4-blade propellers. Engine hours stand at 580 — well under average for this vintage. A Kohler 15.5 KW diesel generator with 500.8 hours handles all onboard power requirements at anchor or on the hook. Fuel capacity is 560 gallons, providing substantial coastal range. Bottom paint was freshly applied in January 2025 and all zinc anodes were replaced at the same time.
Handling and Systems
Volvo QL electric bow and stern thrusters are standard fit on the 460 Voyager, making single-handed docking practical on a vessel of this beam — 14 feet 11 inches. Shore power is Hubbel 50-amp single phase. Battery management uses a ProSport 20 Plus 3-bank charger. Three Dometic 120VAC air conditioning units cover the forward cabin (10,000 BTU), mid cabins (7,000 BTU), and salon (16,000 BTU). A diesel heating system is also installed for year-round comfort. Holding tank capacity is 80 gallons.

Deck and Exterior
The flybridge carries an aft-facing curved settee with a fixed oval dining table and separate helm seating — a genuine outdoor living space. The cockpit has built-in seating, a wet bar with sink, and a 12 VDC aluminum davit/crane arm for tender handling. The foredeck features a full sunpad and the vessel is rigged with a bimini top. The hull is finished in white gelcoat on a modified V-bottom FRP planing hull with 15-degree deadrise aft.
